This fall will begin our 2024 Membership Drive. Our goal is to bring together the stakeholders in our mission and community in a way that allows us to plan sustainably for the future of our organization. We are excited about the opportunities and events that will be popping up next year and want you to be a part of it!

The Watershed Journal Literary Group is as committed today to our mission and vision as we were from the beginning. Our mission is to empower and elevate regional authorship and readership in the western Pennsylvania Wilds. We are a grassroots, autonomous, nonprofit organization that produces a literary publication, runs a bookstore, offers free resources to the community and brings together writers, photographers and artists from across eleven regions (and beyond!). We believe in the power of storytelling, in both visual and written forms, as a way to transcend our perceived differences and inspire one another. We also believe in the influence of the natural world, dynamically apparent in our region of the state.

The Membership program allows us to deep dive into the needs and interests of the local literary community. Our staff and volunteers wear many hats and are committed to fiscal responsibility. Membership support aligns our efforts with our mission by allowing us to think sustainably about how we use our resources to best serve our area. Our Members are our strongest support as we contribute to a vibrant literary community.

  • Sustaining Memberships not only support our mission to empower and elevate our literary community, but it also fuels our energy and innovation to go above and beyond towards the possibilities in the future

The 2024 Membership Drive is all about funding our future. Membership contributions go toward our operational costs of keeping a roof over our heads and continuing the staff efforts. But Memberships go beyond operating expenses; they also allow us to offer free events and resources to the community. Sustained Membership support goes a long way to allow us to continue to be creative with our outreach and community building and shows that the region believes in our words, our photos, our art. We are dedicated to promoting the talent in our area and can’t wait to show you more!
