We love our literary community!
Our nonprofit literary magazine is made possible by our incredible volunteers, submitters, Members, advertisers and sponsors. Your ongoing support for local storytelling allows us to continually give the first and best resources to our local writers and photographers. Through The Watershed Journal magazine itself, Workshops and other events, we will continue to lift up voices in our area. Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far.
Here are some big ways local individuals and businesses have shown support for us. We are so grateful to you all for believing our stories matter!

2020 Literary Sponsors: Making TWJ available to all through our incredible library systems
The libraries in our hometowns have been our most ardent supporters from the beginning. Providing free copies to public libraries in our area allows us to show our commitment to local readers and further strengthen our bond within the community. Our generous 2020 Literacy Sponsors have provided copies for libraries in the following counties.
- Jacquelin McCauley: Jefferson County
- Jo & Ray Bugay: Forest County
- Greg & Cass Clary: Clarion County
If you don’t see your county listed and would like to jump on the sponsorship for 2020, contact us!
In the Press
Small-town newspapers and marketing efforts are vital to our communities. The Watershed Journal’s staff deeply appreciates the attention of our local news outlets and media groups for attention it brings to the work of our very talented, local writers, photographers and storytellers.

Publishing Community
- Littsburgh – Littsburgh™ showcases Pittsburgh as a hub of literary talent and activity, and serves as a resource to foster further collaboration and connection within this community.
- Poets and Writers – Founded in 1970, Poets & Writers is the nation’s largest nonprofit organization serving creative writers. Our mission? To foster the professional development of poets and writers, to promote communication throughout the literary community, and to help create an environment in which literature can be appreciated by the widest possible public. Check out TWJ’s listing here!
- ProLitFic – Prolitfic is a team of creative writers who’ve struggled to find our place. We saw traditional publishers favor popular authors. We found it hard to get noticed in a sea of self-publishing. We thought many online fiction websites didn’t provide detailed feedback through active communities. So, we created Prolitfic from a thought experiment in a college classroom.
- Thinkerbeat Reader – Read magazines online. We host a library with stories by the best authors in speculative fiction.
