Chase // Coronavirus

Chase here – Former Shelter Dog reporting
I don’t mean to brag or anything but I pick up on my human’s attitudes simply by watching their body language; and lately they seem anxious.
They watch too much TV and Missus is constantly checking her phone. Shopping trips have stopped except for the ride Mister and I took today to put something in the mail and we are no longer visiting our neighbor. They seem to blame someone called Coronavirus.
A dog’s job is to take care of his humans so I’ve devised ways to intervene. I spend more time on Mister’s lap and I often call Missus to come sit with me on the loveseat. When one of the sits down I park myself under a hand that always ends up scratching my ears, back or belly.
The weather is better lately so I invent ways to get both Mister and Missus outside. We don’t need to go far… just go out.
I think it’s working because today Missus baked muffins… blueberry muffins. They came out of the oven steaming hot and smellin’ fantastic.
Usually I get a bite when they cool but today Missus must have forgotten. She simply walked away leaving them on the counter.
I waited a fair amount of time and when she didn’t come back I reached up and helped myself. I was just licking my lips and reaching for another when Mister yelled, “Chase! Get down! Bad dog!”
I don’t understand humans; but until this Coronavirus thing goes away I can keep them entertained… and the muffins were delicious.
