Hi, Chase Here – Former Shelter Dog

It’s a lazy day on the Summit. The weather is cold, dark, windy and wet. It’s a good day for watching the weather from the comfort of my bed.
That got me to thinking… about beds. When I was in the Shelter I had a bed but it wasn’t really mine then the Mister and Missus brought me to live here on the Summit.
That first night I had a very comfortable blanket where I curled up and with a big happy sigh went to sleep. The Mister stayed nearby all night just in case I might need something.

The next day we went shopping and came home with a soft, manly, camouflage pillow placed near where my Mister and Missus sit most of the time. We also brought home my Man Caveand inside it was another soft place to sleep.
I take a lot of naps – I guess it’s just my nature – so a soft place to curl up is very important to me. I also like to ride in my “Chick-Magnet” (pickup). The Mister built a special platform in the backseat and put another soft pillow there.

As time went on and I got more comfortable with my new home I discovered a lot of big windows that went right down to the floor. I started keeping watch over my world from those windows. And there was a bonus – sunshine. I love to sleep in the warm sun. The Missus put another soft pillow in my favorite spot.
Summer came and my family took me outside whenever they went out. There was a rug near the garage door in the sunshine that was pretty comfortable. I love the cushion on the swing where my Missus and me spend time in the shade on a hot day and then of course there’s the loveseat. I’m not supposed to sleep there but if anybody sits down I join them… and sometimes I forget to leave.

Yep, I’m one lucky dog – I have lots of places to take a nap – even anywhere there is a rug or sometimes I just collapse on the floor.
But here comes Mister and I think he’s heading to his chair… YES! My favorite bed of all is right there on the lap of my Mister
Nap time!
This is Chase – signing out.
Wouldn’t it be nice if every shelter pet had a choice of beds in a Forever Home?
