It was a teenage wedding
And the old folks shook their heads
They’re just kids

They don’t know what
A commitment marriage is
It won’t last past fall

It was a September divorce
The judge gave her everything
Since she paid all the bills

He pleaded for the TV
Only until the  Series was over
The Sox were in it this year

In spite of all the hurt
She was still in love
She never saw that TV again

This year the Sox were out of the playoffs
But he’ll be in front of a different TV
Contemplating other types of wins and losses
