Click below to listen to the 18th episode of Writers of the Watershed, featuring local writer Tabassam Shah

Tabassam Shah is a historian and poet in Clarion who is interested in local activism and community development. Tabassam’s poem, “Where the Ground Pine Grows”, was published in the recent Summer Edition of The Watershed Journal. She also collaborates with a group of Renshi poets. In this episode, Tabassam discusses the importance of voice in both writing and reading the work of others. She also talks about how, for her, writing is a critical part of representing voices that are often marginalized.

In our continuing mission to promote regional writers, photographers and storytellers, we are introducing yet another way for our followers and supporters to get to know the incredibly talented people who make The Watershed Journal possible. In these episodes, our writers will talk about the inspiration and methods behind their work.
