Our passion for each individual voice and perspective brings us closer and improves our craft. We have seen each other grow and struggle and risk and adapt. New voices are welcomed and encouraged and veteran wordsmiths are valued and heard. We believe a wider audience will enjoy storytelling from the Pennsylvania Wilds because we can’t get enough of it!
There is a golden moment in writer’s meetings that I both dread and relish, every time. It’s that few seconds after you have finished reading your work, just before you look up from the page. You are filled with elation. What was conceived as an idea and hatched in a battle of words has now discovered flight. Your story is your secret no longer; it has left the nest and taken on a life of its own.
With these three active and dedicated groups, the writers of Northwestern Pennsylvania enjoy a myriad of opportunities to share their work and get feedback, perform their pieces and grow in their craft and creativity. No wonder the area’s water tastes so delicious!
Submitters, supporters and followers of The Watershed Journal (TWJ) may have also heard of the group of writers called The Writer’s Block Party (WBP), a social group for writers that is sponsored by the Journal. It might be confusing when TWJ writers talk about being WBP writers (oh the joys of acronyms!).
